Tour Details

We invite you to a unique tour in the heart of Danube Delta and to a special route with many tourist attractions, the special climax of Letea Forest Natural Reservation, but also you can visit Sulina town and the mouth of Danube.

Letea Forest is a protected natural reservation of international interest located in the Danube Delta, on the administrative territory of C.A. Rosetti village and it is the oldest natural reservation in Romania.

Here we can find lawn or lianas, secular oak trees, sand dunes and wild horses riding freely. It is also called the little jungle of the Delta.

The forest has an incredible appearance and it is well hidden in the heart of the Delta by thousands of hectares of reed, tangled canals and sandy roads, Letea is among the few miracles of nature that have survived the invasion of the modern world. It covers about 3,000 hectares and has a rich fauna, representing about 70% of the Delta fauna, but also a unique vegetation specific to the Mediterranean and sub-tropical climate. Optionally, you can visit Sulina, the most eastern city of Romanian and European Union.Sulina was the most important port on the Black Sea coast and the headquarters of the European Comitee of the Danube (CED), but it was almost completely destroyed during World War I and although a forced industrialization was attempted during the communist era, Sulina has never regained its glory. The town is an interesting mix of ruins and vague memories, hotels, blocks, old and new homes and a corniche that seems that never moved in time. After it springs from the Black Forest Mountains in Germany, the Danube crosses 10 countries and 4 capitals, it ends its journey in Sulina in a great manner, offering stunning views and it represents the strength of the whole trip.

We offer you a special itinerary that will remain in your memory for a long time. We will reach our destination through a special route: Tulcea Channel – 36 Channel – Garla Sontea – Olguta Channel – Old Danube – Mila 23 Village – Obretin Resort (lunch) – Trei Iezere Lake – Bogdaproste Lake – Matita Lake – Merhei Lake – Letea Forest.

We will also pass by Nebunu and Baclanesti lakes where you will admire the Delta’s fauna and flora in all its splendor. Upon arrival at Obretin Resort,  you can optionally enjoy a traditional fish lunch, prepared from the daily catch of the fishermen, from our own lakes.

The cost of a lunch (2 main courses) is 50 RON per person. Our menu contains of traditional fish dishes of many different kinds, caught by our fishermen on a daily basis. The dishes are cooked by a local chef and the restaurant is a local gastronomic point. We can also prepare vegetarion or other culinary requests if you let us know in advance.

After lunch, we will continue our journey on a splendid route across Cazanel or Radacinos, Trei Iezere, Miazazi, Matita and Merhei Lakes to Letea village. Our guides will try to find the best places where you can admire the birds and the beautiful water lilly flowers. In Letea, you will  go for a safari tour in a special safari car that will take around 3 hours.  In some places, swampy terrain is crossed over wooden bridges and at the end of the tunnel is spread sand dunes, large and small, with alternating strips of land (hasmace), forming a unique phenomenon, desert woods. These sand dunes are supposed to be part of the sand barrier that separates the Tulcea bay (located on the current surface of the Delta) from the Black Sea. This sand bar has made the Tulcea bay turn into the first phase into a lagoon and then in the Danube Delta.Returning to the route, the last stop is the Fountain of Omer, where once a Turk with this name lived and the traces of his house can still be seen near the fountain.  The next boat trip crosses the Barbos Canal – the Corban – Sulina Canal – the Danube River’s Gulf into the Black Sea – returning on the Sulina Canal to Tulcea in the same place of departure.

The duration of the trip is  around 10 hours.

The price of the trip differs according to the number of tourists participating, as follows:

• 1-2 people – 1600 ron / boat

• 6-11 people – 2400 ron / boat
